Wonder of Science!

At the age of six in 2017, my son told me that when grew up he wanted to be a scientist!

Both of my children had a really tough year with the family spitting up at the end of 2016 but I have always tought my children through fun and collecting. Like my sons fossil collection that we have grown over the years. Every time we go on holiday we try to find different and unusal fossils making it a game and giving my son the excitement and wow factor when he holds his fossils of the piece of history he holds in his hands.

We started looking at the stars recently including the live cameras on the International Space Station and pictures of the true wonder and beauty of space. My son has a huge interest now so we will explore this together.

My daughter is only a year old at the moment but as she grows we will teach her as well, having close family time and fun!

We will do this ONLY while it is fun making things and doing experiments. If the fun ever goes then so will the crazy lab coat family 😄

Until then, LET’S HAVE FUN!

Making Slime!

We will be making slime today!

Make this extra special and get a lab coat or apron for the children with goggles.

Gloves are also recommended for mixing the borax solution.

You will need

  • Measuring Container
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Stirrer (wooden lolly stick okay)
  • 50ml PVA Glue
  • Borax (1 Tablespoon Full)
  • Glitter or Coloured Ink
  1. Pour 100ml of water into your mixing bowl and add the glue. Stir until fully combined (Roughly 30 seconds to a minute).
  2. Add the ink or glitter to the mixture and stir until fully combined. Set aside.
  3. Put 25ml of water into your measuring container and add the borax. Make sure it is fully dissolved.
  4. Add the borax solution to your mixture and stir for about 15 seconds until fused.
  5. The slime is ready to play with!

This is a really simple and quick experiment! My son was amazed at what the outcome was!

This method makes a quality slime that is better than most shop bought ones and kids will LOVE their creation! 😄

😄 HAVE FUN 😄

Slime WILL stain certain materials and clothing.

Do not put in hair, eyes or ingest!
